About the Magazine

Villanelle is a Lesbian literary and art magazine which publishes two issues a year based around a theme. With an alternative and interdisciplinary perspective, Villanelle seeks work by lesbians and from a lesbian lens. The work itself does not necessarily need to be about lesbianism. The magazine is committed to fostering open dialogue and friendly debate, so encourages work which explores ideas and challenges convention.

Villanelle welcomes classical and experimental pieces which play with form, genre, and style. Although situated in Australia, it accepts works from all over the world, including pieces in English and bilingual.
